Onsite Customer Field Service Engineer – Chandler, Arizona

The Field Service Engineer in Chandler, Arizona will be based onsite with our customer. Our FSE will work  in a clean-room environment, participates in the build out phase of Capital equipment, performing field installations, start-up, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, and modifications on complex electronic / electro-mechanical semiconductor capital equipment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties / Essential Functions:

· Assess complex product/equipment performance, troubleshoot to root cause, recommend, track, and implement modifications or improvements

· Complete related documentation and write BKM’s, (best-known-methods), for installation or preventative maintenance procedures for equipment

· Manage failure analysis for returned parts between vendors and provide updates to customers

· Coordinate with factory personnel or other technical and internal resources to accomplish customer required work

· Create and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through advanced customer service skills, implementing fast, quality responses to internal and external customers while maintaining a safety first mentality

· Participate in escalation meetings to track and drive solutions for customer support operations and provide updates

· Represent the company in front of the customer in a professional and proactive manner to ensure customer satisfaction and company profitability

Education and Experience:

· Associates degree, (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

· 2 or more years of relevant experience troubleshooting/repairing complex electro-mechanical equipment, (prior semiconductor equipment preferred)

Qualifications and Skills:

· Must be able to work in a clean-room environment

· Experience with vacuum-based or wet chemistry (Plating), or dry chemistry (PVD), equipment, utilizing software-controls preferred

· Excellent communication, (written and verbal), and customer service skills

· Proficiency using MS office, (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

· Self-motivated individual with ability to work alone and/or with limited supervision

· Candidates selected will be required to complete a drug-screening and background check

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment, in cleanrooms, and in customer factories around electro-mechanical equipment.

Physical Requirements:

Job duties may be performed in a clean room environment. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, etc. Regular airline/overnight travel is required.

Expected Hours of work:

Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or as assigned by supervisor. Schedule may change according to customer needs

Travel:

Domestic or international travel may be required on occasion
