Strategic Sourcing Buyer
The Strategic Sourcing buyer has primary responsibility of developing and implementing sourcing strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, components, and service required for prototyping and production. This role will work closely with suppliers, internal stake holders, and cross-functional teams to optimize the supply chain, manager-supplier relationships, drive cost savings, and support the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities and Duties / Essential Functions:
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned areas of spend to optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
• Support new product development in selecting suppliers that can deliver high quality parts quickly that can scale to low-cost production.
• Coordinate design for manufacturing (DFM) activities between engineering and supply chain to deliver first time right products.
• Ensure that technical issues are escalated and mitigated with stakeholder support.
• Track purchase orders and notify supply chain planning team of any material issues and shipment delays, while ensuring a timely resolution with the supplier.
• Lead supplier identification, supplier development, and new program implementation efforts.
• Develop, issue, and analyze Request for Proposals (RFPs), and recommend the best solution
• Identify and execute a plan to improve supplier base and leverage spend using ongoing sourcing strategies.
• Deliver annual cost savings initiatives through execution of sourcing projects and collaboration with internal stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain ongoing strategies to manage assigned categories using market data and proactive cost modeling.
• Utilize negotiation and contracting skills that build strong supplier relationships and minimize total cost of ownership with existing and new suppliers.
• Monitor and report on supplier performance and cost savings verifications.
• Perform all other essential related duties.
• Support and manage supplier negotiations, implementation of supplier agreements and integration of new suppliers.
• Perform all other essential related duties as assigned.
• Must be able to make safety the top priority, as well as creating high quality results without compromises.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or related field required
• 5+ years’ experience in purchasing, preferably in ahigh mix, low volume environment
• Supply chain development experience
Qualifications and Skills:
• Work experience in a capital equipment or semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry is preferred
• Prior experience with MRP systems, preferably M2M or SAP
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills with attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task, take initiative, work independently, and use creative problem-solving skills
• Good communication and math skills is essential
• High-energy and goal-oriented demeanor is desirable

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to move from one place to another or stay in one position and communicate with others and exchange information. May occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
Expected Hours of work:
Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or as assigned by supervisor.
